Along with my interest in writing, which has always been my first love, I also enjoy painting. I paint images on stones that I collect on my travels, mostly from the rocky shores of Lake Superior in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan and from Lake Michigan in the lower peninsula. I have also brought back stones from the shores of the Baltic Sea in Latvia.

In 2011, I have begun to explore a new interest, combining my writing with my painting—“broadsides.” Long ago, broadsides were created as advertisements, posted like fliers to catch the eye of potential customers for a product or service. Today, broadsides are often made to show artwork, combining writing and poetry. This is where I step in.
